RoseyBud is a contemporary folk-art band, Think: The Carter Family Meets Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin with a Hint of Velvet Underground

RoseyBud is a roots-driven folk duo that blends the timeless harmonies of classic Americana with poetic lyricism and a touch of cinematic mystique. Imagine The Carter Family meets Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin, with a whisper of Velvet Underground—a sound that is both intimate and expansive, weaving together old-time folk traditions, theatrical storytelling, and evocative melodies.

Born from a shared love of folk music’s storytelling tradition, RoseyBud’s musical partnership was illuminated under the full moon at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, where they were inspired by the spirit of community and song. From that moment, their journey into Americana songwriting and performance began, shaped by years of travel, collaboration, and deep appreciation for the folk lineage.

Their music has been welcomed at folk festivals, listening rooms, and intimate venues, including performances at The Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Mamma Lee’s Stage in Kauai, and storytelling events at the Comedy Central Stage. They’ve shared songs and songwriting sessions with Bill and Jill Nershi, Maria Muldaur, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Peter Rowan, and the Rowan Brothers, and were honored to be featured on Sunday Smile, a show hosted by String Cheese Incident’s Bill Nershi and Jilian Nershi.

About the Artists

Amanda “Rosey” Rowan was raised in the Northern California folk scene, writing and performing alongside her father, Grammy-winning Bluegrass Hall of Fame inductee Peter Rowan. Their song collaboration, On The Wings of Horses, was recorded on Peter’s Grammy-nominated album Dust Bowl Children and later re-recorded by Emmylou Harris on Disney Records. She has performed at Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, and MerleFest alongside her father. In addition to her work as a musician, Rosey is also a renowned visual and performance artist, with museum exhibitions worldwide.

Buddy Diggle, originally from rural North Carolina, has always been drawn to poetry, folk traditions, and storytelling. His background as a writer and theater artist informs his unique approach to lyrical storytelling, merging literary narratives with folk melodies that feel both timeless and contemporary.
